Frida Mom Postpartum Kit: Best Postpartum Supplies For New Moms

If you’re a pregnant mom looking for the best postpartum must haves, a frida mom postpartum kit will be a life saver for you!

Whether recovering from a c section or a vaginal delivery, healing after birth can be really uncomfortable.

From a maternal newborn nurse and mom of 2 (almost 3), trust me when I say having the right items is essential for your postpartum recovery.

While many hospitals do provide you with several postpartum supplies, they can really range in quality.

I’ve seen this first hand working on different postpartum and labor and delivery units as a nurse.

I’ve always been a huge fan of the Frida Baby products as mom. So when I saw Frida Mom started making products for new moms, I knew they’d be great quality!

Any time I see new postpartum moms using any of the supplies from the Frida Mom product line, they always say how much they love them.

Now that I’m pregnant with my third baby, I’m so excited to be able to put together the perfect postpartum care kit with the Frida Mom postpartum essentials.

Read below for a breakdown of all the best Frida Mom postpartum must haves. This guide will help you put together your own perfect postpartum care kit.

Frida Mom Postpartum Recovery Essentials Kit

This frida mom postpartum recovery kit includes:

  1. Frida Mom 2-in-1 Postpartum Absorbent Perineal Ice Maxi Pads
  2. Disposable Postpartum Underwear
  3. Perineal Cooling Pad Liners with witch hazel
  4. Perineal Healing Foam

The postpartum absorbent perineal ice pads are great to have the first couple days after delivery.

Whether you have swelling or tearing after having a baby, cold therapy can really help diminish swelling and pain.

What’s great about these ice pads is that they are actually absorbent.

Most of the time if the hospital gives you perineal ice packs they aren’t very absorbent.

After having a baby, you can expect to have vaginal bleeding like a heavy period for the first few days.

Then you will continue to have light vaginal bleeding and spotting up to 6-8 weeks postpartum.

Once your swelling and or pain has decreased, you won’t need to use ice packs any more.

At that point you can move on to just regular maxi pads or even disposable depends underwear.

Yes I know, the postpartum is super glamorous.

This frida mom postpartum recovery kit comes with all the same postpartum essentials as the one above, as well as the upside down peri bottle.

Frida Mom Peri bottle

A peri bottle is definitely a postpartum must have item.

When you’ve just had a baby, whether vaginally or via c section, you’ll need to be rinsing yourself pretty much every time you use the restroom.

The one by frida mom is awesome because it’s made to be held upside down and is much easier to use than the generic one they may give you at the hospital.

Frida Mom Labor and Delivery + Postpartum Recovery Kit comes complete with a delivery and nursing gown, socks and a cute toiletry bag.

For an even more comprehensive kit, frida mom also offers the labor and delivery + postpartum recovery kit.

This kit comes with a 2 in 1 labor and delivery/nursing gown that is much nicer than what they offer at most hospitals.

It also comes with a cute toiletry bag which is super useful to keep all your postpartum supplies in one convenient place.

Frida Mom C-Section Recovery Kit

If you’re having a scheduled repeat c section, this kit is a great option for you.

The frida mom C-Section Recover Kit comes with:

  1. Bathroom Essentials Bag
  2. Grip Socks
  3. Skip the Shower Wipe Mitts
  4. Upside Down Peri Bottle
  5. Postpartum Abdominal Support Binder
  6. Silicone Scare Patches
  7. Disposable High Waist C Section Postpartum Underwear

If you don’t know for sure if you’ll be having a c section, it’s still a really good idea to be prepared just in case.

If you don’t want to buy the C-Section Recovery Kit as a whole, you can also choose to buy any of the items listed below separately.

Frida Mom Postpartum Abdominal Binder

C Section Silicone Scar Patches

Frida Mom Disposable High Waist C-Section Postpartum Underwear

Frida Mom C-Section Recovery Band | Post-Op Incision Protector | Targeted Hot + Cold Therapy

Another great postpartum essential to have is the FridaBaby Mom Perineal Comfort Donut Cushion.

They also now offer a line of breastfeeding products!

These breastfeeding products are really great quality and wonderful to have as a breastfeeding mom.

Frida Mom Breast Mask for Engorgement

Frida Mom Sore Nipple Set | Cracked Nipple Saline Spray, No-Mess Nipple Cream

Frida Mom Instant Heat Reusable Breast Warmers

Frida Mom 2-in-1 Lactation Massager

Frida Mom Postpartum Supplement Set

My last recommendation for frida mom postpartum products is their supplement set that comes with:

Postpartum Gummies for Pooping

This supplement contains natural fiber to help ease constipation and hopefully make that dreaded first postpartum poop not so scary.

I also do recommend taking colace twice a day which I’ll go into more detail about below.

Postpartum Gummies for Hair, Skin + Nails

Postpartum hair loss is super common and also super annoying for so many new moms.

These gummies contain vitamin C and E, as well as a hefty dose of biotin to help hair growth and promote healthy skin and nails.

Postpartum Gummies for Lactation

The frida mom lactation supplements contain fenugreek and milk thistle, which are both great for boosting and maintaining milk supply.

If you don’t feel like making or eating lactation cookies or brownies or drinking a lactation tea, just simply taking these gummies is a most faster and easier alternative.

11 More Must Have Postpartum Supplies You Don’t Want To Forget

Sitz bath

If you had any vaginal tearing during delivery or if you are struggling with hemorrhoids, postpartum sitz baths are super helpful.

Soaking your bottom in the warm water helps to increase circulation to that area and promote healing.

To use a sitz bwth, you simply fill the basin with warm water, set it on your toilet seat (you may have to lift the rim, and sit and soak your bottom for about 15 minutes.

Sitz baths can also double as a great way to practice a little postpartum self care and help you to relax.

You can add 10-20 drops of some lavender essential oils and/or add some epsom salts or postpartum herbs.

Water bottle

We know staying hydrated is important for everyone.

But this is especially true for those of us who are breastfeeding.

Having a large enough water bottle that you aren’t having to refill several times a day can be really helpful in drinking enough water too.

I personally really like this one because not only is it significantly cheaper than a lot of the other options for tumblers that size, but it also has a handle.

Mom life involves mastering just about every aspect of daily life one handed, so having a water bottle with either a sturdy handle or even a strap is super helpful.

Postpartum tinctures

The brand Wish Garden has several great postpartum tinctures to choose from.

My personal favorite is the After Ease tincture with Cramp Bark and Black Haw Bark. It also contains Yarrow and Motherwort aerials.

With each subsequent baby you have, the postpartum cramping/contractions can get more and more painful.

This has definitely been my experience so far, as well as many women I’ve cared for and talked to over the years.

The After Ease tincture really helped minimize my postpartum cramping with my second daughter and I will definitely be purchasing more before the birth of our third baby.

Wish Garden also offers postpartum tinctures for baby blues, lactation support, immune support, rebalancing postpartum hormones, and more!

Back massager

Between pregnancy, breastfeeding, and holding a constantly growing baby, back and neck pain can be a real struggle.

Considering most people can’t afford the time or money to go get weekly massages, having a good massager is really helpful for alleviating neck and back pain.

Heating pad

Heating pads can be used a few ways during the postpartum period.

  • Easing uterine cramps after birth
  • In conjunction with a back massager to ease neck and back pain
  • To pre heat a baby’s sleeping area to help them independently sleep in a bassinet or crib

Colace

Not only does the body tend to naturally constipate itself in preparation for birth, but many of the medications taken during labor and after birth can increase constipation as well.

Colace (docusate sodium) is a stool SOFTENER (not a laxative stimulant) that can be taken twice a day.

Sticking to this regimen, as well as increasing fiber and water intake, can really help with that first poop after birth.

Motrin

If you were taking narcotics in the hospital for pain and weren’t sent home with a prescription for narcotics, 800 mg of Motrin (ibuprofen) can really help ease cramps and back pain.

I recommend trying some of the other more natural alternative methods previously listen in this post first though.

Herbal tea

There are numerous herbal teas that help support postpartum moms.

The Postpartum Uplift Tea by Pink Stork is a wonderful option for new moms.

It contains chamomile, red raspberry leaf, lavender, and several other herbs.

This herbs all create a perfect blend to help support hormonal balance, mental clarity, and to help lift your mood.

Essential Oils for Postpartum

There’s numerous essential oils that can be used during the postpartum to help with different things.

These 3 are some of my personal favorite to have on hand at all times, but especially after having a baby.

Lavender

This single essential oil is the most popular for good reason.

Lavender helps with relaxation and can help both postpartum moms and babies sleep better.

PMS Ease Roll On Blend

This blend is best used in a roller bottle to better be able to simply roll it on your lower abdomen while you’re having postpartum uterine cramping.

The PMS Ease blend contains

Stress Relief

Between hormones fluctuating from all time highs to all time lows after having a baby and then having this new little newborn 100% dependent on you 24/7, postpartum life can definitely feel stressful.

The Stress Relief from Eden’s Garden contains a beautiful blend of Sweet Orange, Bergamot, Patchouli, and Grapefruit.

Diffuse this blend of amazing smelling essential oils to boost the overall atmosphere in your home and to help uplift your spirits.
